Divine Connections

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help comes from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. Psalms 121: 1-2

From Test to Testimony

At age ten, I experienced my first real set back. I failed a very important “test”, this failure prevented me from entering secondary school with my peers. I started my early education with a group of friends and with sadness I watched as those childhood friendships disappeared. I was never a math genius, but a lover of words and  language. I spent most of my childhood stealing books from the school’s library in the hope of starting my own library, which I did!  This was my punishment! So, while my friends were jumping for joy, I had to wait.

He has set the right time for everything. He has given us a desire to know the future, but he never gives us the satisfaction of fully understanding what he does. Ecclesiastes 3:11

At age eleven, Shan came! That was almost twenty years ago. It took me many years to understand that I did not fail that test because I wasn’t good enough; I failed because it wasn’t my time. That test was now a testimony of God’s love and continuous guidance throughout my childhood to present day. As destiny helpers, Shan and I achieved the desires of our hearts and much more. Today, God continues to work in us to help us get to His next level

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17

God will use others to connect to you
“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” John 4 vs 24

I’m sure we would have loved for God to literally take our hands and guide us to where we should be.  God is a Spirit, therefore, He will use a body to do His work.  In the book of Genesis (39:1-6),  Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers. Joseph moved from slave, to a trusted employee, then a prisoner. While imprisoned, Joseph was able to interpret the dreams of a cup-bearer and a baker. It was through the chief cup-bearer, Joseph became known to the King.  When all the “wise” men of Egypt could not interpret King Pharaoh’s dreams, Joseph was able to do this with God’s help. God gave Joseph a heavenly assignment- Joseph was to use his wisdom to manage the future famine in the land. Through God’s strategic plans, Joseph was made the second most important man in Egypt.

Divine Connections

A few months ago, I experienced something which I am yet to name. I am tempted to say that it was depression, but I am still trying to figure it all out. I had recently finished university and decided to take some time off. After studying for four years, I felt empty.  The devil saw an entrance and he squeeze his way through. As always, it started with one negative thought and when acted upon, feelings of fear and anxiety are the end product. I was imprisoned for approximately three weeks; I was unable to make sense of what was happening around me. As I was about to give up, God stepped in!

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Psalms 46:1

God was about to do what no friend or family could have done for me at the time. As I looked through my Whats-app contacts, I sent numerous messages and thankfully an old friend responded. Unknown to me, God was about to give her a heavenly assignment. My Spiritual friend was that person who was chosen by God to connect me to another significant figure. Through this connection, my Reverend entered my life.  God was about to use this body, to connect me to Him. Remember, God is a Spirit!  The day I met Rev, was the day I truly believed in God’s power!

God I am literally in awe of you 🙂

My imprisonment has taught me that God just shows up and shines in your weakness. This is when He gets the chance to just do His thing! This is when we see God’s glory! God continues to remind us that his power is greatest when we are weak, therefore we must be proud of our weaknesses, in order to feel the protection of Christ’s power over our lives( 2 Corinthians 12:9).

Through my imprisonment, I learnt about the nature of men. I realised that if I am to rely on a single individual to full-fill all my needs, then I will be disappointed. No, I am not looking to have two or more husbands.  Yes, I read your mind!  Instead, I was to accept that my husband, family or friends could not give me what they could not understand.  For each individual there is specific task which they will fulfill in our lives.  Abraham, Noah, Moses, Joshua and Jesus had specific tasks and it is God who gives whom he sees fit.

I have a number of friends. In times of trouble I will call on Shan, Georgina or my biological sisters. I see God sending me a bit more sisters, which I am extremely pleased about. I have learnt the importance of knowing who to call for specific situations and I’m thankful for this tiny bit of wisdom.  Unfortunately, the devil can direct us to the wrong person at times and sometimes it can be too late for us. Who you call on in time of trouble can literally make or break you! It can break or save your marriage! It can break or build your career! It can keep you captive or set you free. I pray for the wisdom to call on the right person when trouble comes.

But if any of you lack wisdom, you should pray to God, who will give it to you; because God gives generously and graciously to all. James 1:5 GNB

Separation

Then Abram said to Lot, “We are relatives, and your men and my men shouldn’t be quarreling. So let’s separate. Choose any part of the land you want. You go one way, and I’ll go the other.” Genesis 13: 8‭-‬9

The Bible clearly shows us that some connections are only meant for a short time. Not everyone will be in the next chapter of your journey and this is something I am learning to accept. However, as I now embrace my Christian life, I must try my best to live at peace with everyone, despite our bitter endings.

If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Romans 12: 18

I have moved on from the lives of others and I have had a lot of exits in my life. However,  through Christ a number of persons have returned in this new chapter of my life. I do believe that if it is God’s will, people will return to you in God’s time, I am to trust God’s perfect timing.

Tonight’s Prayer
Tonight,  I don’t know your situation, but if you are feeling like there is no tomorrow please send me a message. I do understand what you are going through, but know that God has placed you in that prison for a future assignment.  Call on Him!!

For those who have been waiting for a Divine Connection, I pray that as the year comes to an end, God will connect you to the right people for your breakthrough.

Tonight, I pray for God’s continuous guidance and protection over your life. Like He has provided me with destiny helpers, I pray that He provides you too

I pray that you continue to rely on God’s help in every situation and trust that he will direct your path until the end of your days. Every test is a testimony of God’s love for us, I hope you can one day share your testimonies with me.

Sleep well, may God richly bless you.

Ann
