“Children are a gift from the Lord ; they are a reward from him.” Psalms 127:3 NLT
You have given me greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and new wine. Psalms 4:7 NLT
With a grateful heart, I share the wonderful news of our pregnancy with you. I felt the need to share this news, because it’s another opportunity for me to boast about the powers and wonders of God. Yes, I get to boast about His never ending love for sinners, like myself, despite the wrongs which I have done. This loves gives us hope; a reminder of God’s mercy for us all.
But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the Lord who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things. I, the Lord , have spoken! Jeremiah 9:24 NLT
On the other hand, I am mindful that for some persons this might be a difficult read. I ask that this message will plant a seed of faith within your heart. I pray that as you place your trust in God, this seed will grow until it bears that sweet fruit. May it be the fruit which God has handpicked for you.
But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by the long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8
God’s Plans – My BC Life (Before Christ)
It was a Sunday in April 2018, when I received a few messages from a spiritual friend. As I read the mini paragraph, I had mixed emotions. In these messages, she spoke of a vision in which I brought my baby to her. In this vision, she described a lady wearing a colourful dress standing next to me. She wanted to inform me that this vision will come to pass; the lady had worn the same dress to church that day. I didn’t believe one word of it!
And the Lord said to them, “Now listen to what I say: “If there were prophets among you, I, the Lord , would reveal myself in visions. I would speak to them in dreams.
Numbers 12:6 NLT
A few months after her revelation, I went into that dark place! In the moments of my distress I called on this spiritual friend. A few days later, she brought her minister to my home. After we prayed about my situation, my friend remembered her vision. Within a few minutes my stomach was held captive by the hands of the minister and the prayers went through the roof. As they prayed, my mind was on my neighbours. Were they hearing this “noise” in my house? How disturbing!
Consequences of Disbelief
You see, it’s easy for unbelievers to disbelieve such things. However, it’s important to highlight that even some of the most religious people doubted God. Let’s take Zechariah, the father of John the Baptist, as an example. When the angel appeared to him and told him of a son which he would receive, these were his words:
Zechariah said to the angel, “How can I be sure this will happen? I’m an old man now, and my wife is also well along in years.” Then the angel said, “I am Gabriel! I stand in the very presence of God. It was he who sent me to bring you this good news! But now, since you didn’t believe what I said, you will be silent and unable to speak until the child is born. For my words will certainly be fulfilled at the proper time.” Luke 1:18-20 NLT
There is always a consequence of not believing. Let’s take the story of Moses and the children of the Israelites as an example. A journey which was meant to be a short one, lasted for forty years because of disbelief. We can all relate to this! How different would our lives have been, if we had listened the first time around? Thankfully, we have a God who overdoses us with opportunities to get things right.
“The Lord was angry with Israel and made them wander in the wilderness for forty years until the entire generation that sinned in the Lord ’s sight had died. Numbers 32:13 NLT
Visions and Prophecy
In August of 2018, I had my first spiritual experience. I had to laugh, because I had heard of such experiences, but never believed they were possible. My first out of body experience was the most powerful. In the early hours of the morning, my spiritual body left my physical body, it sat on the edge of our bed, then walked across our bedroom. In my spiritual body, pictures were revealed; there was also a piece of paper written in small print and a newspaper article. I attempted to read the paper, but the print was just too small. Like a passing cloud, it disappeared, then another took it’s place.
A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, while another is given the ability to interpret what is being said.1 Corinthians 12:7, 10 NLT
I saw an image of a nursery; there was an “ABC” poster on our bedroom wall. I asked God if this was for the child I’ve been told about. The spiritual body appeared to be very much like the physical body; it remembered my friend’s vision. It communicated with God through mind reading, instead of verbalising the words. That’s how I can best explain it! As more messages were revealed, I became scared in my spiritual body. I appealed to God to put me back into my physical body and He did.
When buried, it is a physical body; when raised, it will be a spiritual body. There is, of course, a physical body, so there has to be a spiritual body. 1 Corinthians 15:44 GNB
As I sat on my bed, I tried to make sense of the experience. Surprisingly, I was filled with joy because the experience confirmed that God was truly real! I knew I had just experience something which was beyond this world. I believed it was God’s power, but who would believe this happened? Who would best explain this encounter? Thankfully, God directed me to one of his messengers.
But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means. 1 Corinthians 2:14 NLT
God Confirms His Message
A few weeks later, I was going to meet a spiritual lady in church. It was our first encounter. As she held my hand and prayed with me, she said, “I just saw you with a tummy, you’re going to have a baby.”
Following the church service, I pondered on this message and my worries came ashore. I wasn’t ready for a baby! It’s not the right time! I needed to get this bit of my life sorted, then this needed to be in place! Was this news true? This was the third time I was told this news. You see, God will always confirm His messages. He does this so we can glorify Him when the miracle arrives.
But when my servant makes a prediction, when I send a messenger to reveal my plans, I make those plans and predictions come true. I tell Jerusalem that people will live there again, and the cities of Judah that they will be rebuilt. Those cities will rise from the ruins. Isaiah 44:26 GNB
Desire God’s will
As I reflected on these messages, I attempted to fit the puzzle together. Prior to meeting this lady, a voice came to me in the early hours of the morning . The voice was neither male nor female; it was the most beautiful voice, but quite stern. It said, “Desire the will of God”. I knew this voice! As I reflected on these words, I realised that I had the final clue to the puzzle. God had provided an instruction a month or two ago, but your girl was just slow! I just didn’t get it!
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27 NIV
As the months passed, my old self went with it and my mind took a different shape. I loosened the grip on the priorities which held me captive; I desired something more valuable. In November 2018, I desired God’s will for me. We became pregnant a few weeks later.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2 NIV
God’s Unfailing Love
Everyday, I’m reminded of God’s unfailing love for me. Yes, I am that sinner who walked away from God and went my own way. However, God kept no records of my wrongs. I cannot boast or say that I’m special, for I still sin. Yet, God blesses and forgives me, while He transforms me into His image.
How wonderful is He? 🙂
So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image. 2 Corinthians 3:18 NLT
Perhaps you’ve been waiting for that miracle and your growing tired of waiting. Zechariah and Abraham were two religious men who waited on God to grant them children. While they waited, they were being prepared to raise great men and women of God. Who knows God’s will for you? Who knows what you should be preparing for? Ask Him for guidance and He will reveal this to you.
For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just, so that the Lord will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.” Genesis 18:19 NIV
God loves us all. He wants to bless us and sometimes He wants to bless us with things we think we are not ready for. I look not at my circumstances, but God’s unlimited power and faithfulness. God will not bless us and walk away. He will always provide for us. We just need to place our faith in God and not ourselves.
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1 NIV
It is my prayer that you desire the will of God. I ask that His will for you will be revealed through heavenly encounters; may God confirms His will for you.
May you be given opportunities to trust in God or increase in faith, then you will see God’s unlimited power and faithfulness, instead of your current circumstances.
May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favour and give you his peace. Numbers 6:24-26 NLT
